About Kendra G

Radio has a new voice taking it by surprise and that voice goes by the name of Kendra G (or "Black Barbie", whichever you prefer!).

Raised in a household surrounded by music, it should be no surprise that Kendra G sounds like she was born to be on the radio. Her love for music and entertainment began at a very early age. Growing up in Connecticut and attending parties and functions with her father, who was an extremely popular Dee-Jay throughout her adolescent years, immediately gave her the intensity needed to be involved in a career surrounded by music.

Kendra G began her radio career while attending Hampton University. Upon graduating from Hampton, she landed her first commercial radio job in her home state of Connecticut with WZMX Hot 93.7. Utilizing her outstanding people skills and her sense of humor to entertain her listeners every weekend, she immediately impressed the Program Director, who made her the main fill-in jock for the full-time air staff.

Within months her hilarious comments and her "tell it like it is" personality made her a well-known name in Connecticut. It was only a matter of time before Kendra G would be entertaining listeners on a daily basis, and that time came in November of 2003.

For over a year, Kendra G took Buffalo, New York by storm! Saying what she felt to entertain and inform her listeners every evening on 93.7 WBLK had everyone in Western New York talking about the "Black Barbie." Her evening show was the undisputed #1 evening show in WNY, with opportunities like interviewing Grammy-winning artists such as Alicia Keys, or dancing with Usher in front of 30,000 people in Toronto, Canada.

And better it got! One of the rarest opportunities in radio found its way right into Kendra G's path, mornings in Chicago. You can now wake up to her energetic voice every morning as she co-hosts the Trey the Chocolate Jock Morning Jump-Off on POWER 92, #1 in the streets of Chicago. Her winning attitude and undeniable dedication to radio will guarantee that her success continues in the Windy City.

Since her Chicago debut, Kendra G has continued to build a national profile - appearing on CNN as a pop-culture commentator, hosting red carpets at the American Music Awards, joining the Hello Ross panel on E!, running her own 90 Days Honestly mentorship program for young women, and covering everything from Grammy weekend to the morning drive.
